2025 Portfolio RFP

 

Seminole Electric Cooperative, Inc. (Seminole) is issuing a Request for Proposals to solicit offers from interested parties with the intent of securing Proposals for existing and/or new gas-fired generation and energy storage projects. Seminole will consider both short-term and long-term Proposals up to 1,500 MW of firm capacity that fully or partially fulfill Seminole’s needs to meet its planning requirement beginning approximately in 2033.  Seminole will consider new projects with a Commercial Operation Date and existing projects that will become fully available to, or transferred to, Seminole prior to January 1, 2033.  Seminole will consider Proposals with firm capacity available earlier than 2033, provided the earlier delivery provides adequate additional value.

Proven technology types which fall within the defined parameters of this RFP will be accepted for evaluation. Technologies which will be evaluated include conventional gas-fired generation resources such as Combined Cycles, Combustion Turbines, and Reciprocating Internal Combustion Engines, as well as Battery Energy Storage Systems.

Upon registration for this RFP website, potential Respondents will be able to review the Non-Disclosure Agreement (“NDA”) (Exhibit A) and the Bidder Pre-Qualification Form (Exhibit B) affiliated with this RFP. To view the RFP document, potential Respondents must fully execute and submit an NDA (Exhibit A) and Bidder Pre-Qualification Form (Exhibit B) to the RFP website. Please note that redlines will not be accepted for this NDA process and prior NDAs cannot be substituted.

Addendum No.1 issued on 12/19/2025. The 2025 Portfolio RFP will accept Solar + Battery Energy Storage Systems as an acceptable technology type. The official RFP Document has been updated on 12/19/2025 to reflect this modification.
